In conjunction with more than 1,650 events planned across the nation for America Recycles Day, members of the Hot Springs/Garland County Beautification Commission will be stationed at the city’s 24-hour Recycling Dropoff Center from 9 a.m. until noon on Tuesday, November 15 to answer questions, distribute information on recycling, and give out free pencils, stickers and other promotional items.
Residents can bring plastics type one and two, aluminum cans, telephone books, corrugated cardboard, plastic bags, and newspapers to the dropoff center. Small electronic waste and office white paper can be brought to the Regional Recycling Center, adjacent to the city Sanitation office at 218 Runyon Street, on weekdays from 7:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. City residents can also register for free curbside recycling by calling 321-6911.
County residents can bring items to the Recycling Convenience Center at the Cedar Glades Landfill on weekdays from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. The center accepts the following items for recycling: scrap metal, white office paper, newspaper, phone books, corrugated cardboard, aluminum cans, steel cans, type 1 and 2 plastic bottles, car batteries, and up to four passenger vehicle tires.
