Village prepared for emergency

Emergency management representatives from Saline and Garland counties, as well as from Life Net, Good Samaritan Retirement Center, attended a disaster tabletop event at the Coronado Community Center yesterday, Dec. 13, along with HSV firefighters, HSV police officers and other key Property Owners’ Association staff members. The event, which was hosted by the Department of Public Safety, and led by HSV firefighter Richard Cox, allowed the representatives to work through a mock disaster scenario, discussing how the various areas of service would respond.

“I’d like to thank all of the emergency personnel, POA staff and others who attended the tabletop exercise,” said Ricky Middleton, POA interim director of public safety, noting the POA’s Emergency Operation Plan has been recently updated and will be updated as needed to allow the organization to be “as prepared as possible.”

The POA will be releasing information for property owners about emergency preparedness in the coming weeks.
