Garland County Sheriff warns of scam
The Garland County Department of Emergency Management received a call, which showed up as PRIVATE, from a person posing as an AT&T employee requesting personal information and promising a 35% reduction in future phone bills.
The call taker requested a name and number from the "employee". When they called the number back, it went to a retail business in Montana. The owner of the business said that he had been overwhelmed with confirmation calls recently, from those who had been contacted.
