Glenda Sue Levart was arrested shortly after 4 a.m. and charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Garland County Sheriff’s Department deputies Clayton Green and J.T. Dunn got behind a red Chevrolet pickup on Walnut Valley Road and noted the license plate light and one brake light were out. A check of the license plate revealed the tags to be ficticious.
A traffic stop was made at Walnut Valley and Clevis Trail and deputies made contact with the driver, identified as Levart, who gave them her driver’s license and a bill of sale for the vehicle. A D.L. check revealed her driver’s license to be suspended.
When asked what she was doing out so late, she told Dunn she had picked up the truck from the shop and was headed home.
Dunn asked if there was anything in the vehicle the deputies needed to know about and she said no and gave consent for them to search. Dunn located a baggie with 9.3 grams of marijuana in her purse. When asked about the drugs, Levart allegedly claimed the marijuana belonged to her son.
