Yesterday afternoon there was a wildfire north of the Village off of Weyerhaeuser Road 24,000.
Initially, the wildfire involved 100 acres. The fire quickly grew to more than 300 acres. Weyerhaeuser and the U.S. Forest Service provided 17 bulldozers and six tankers to fight the fire.
The fire was north of the Village and east of Highway 7 North. Luckily winds were nearly non-existent while getting the fire under control.
Today many Villagers are waking up to the smell of smoke. The fire is under control. Today there will still be smoldering and smoke.
