Drowning victim resuscitated by bystanders and Marine Patrol Deputies on Lake Hamilton Sunday.
At approximately 3:45 pm on Sunday the Sheriff's Department received a call of a possible drowning at Hill Wheatley Park on Lake Hamilton.
Marine Patrol Deputies, Cpl. Neil Parliment and Deputy John Dodd, responded to the park and saw bystanders performing CPR on the 26 year old victim, Hoang Nguyen, who had no pulse and was apenic upon their arrival. Cpl. Parliment and Deputy Dodd, a Paramedic on our Marine Patrol, assisted the individuals with the CPR and, through a concerted effort of all involved, were able to regain a pulse and respiration's on the victim.
It was reported that the Mr. Nguyen was seen trembling or shaking in the water and then went under. Bystanders searched for approximately 2 to 4 minutes before locating and re-surfacing with him.
According to friends on scene, Mr. Nguyen has no history of medical illness. The cause of the drowning and Mr. Nguyen's current condition is unknown.
