Traffic stop garners arrest


Sheriff's Deputy traffic stop leads to felony drug arrest for Possession of Controlled Substance w/Intent to Deliver.

At approximately 6:25 p.m. Friday, July 8, Garland County Deputy Cannon observed a blue passenger car with defective lighting. A traffic stop was initiated and Deputy Cannon ID'ed the driver as 27 year old Darien Salter. Further checks revealed that Mr. Salter had a valid warrant for Probation Violation and a suspended drivers license.

During a search of the vehicle for towing, Deputy Cannon located several bags of suspected marijuana, along with items normally associated with the delivery of marijuana.

Mr. Salter was charged with Defective Lighting, Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver, Probation Violation warrant and Driving on Suspended License.
