Parkin Archeological State Park event tomorrow
Do you have a collection of arrowheads or other Native American artifacts you would like to know more about? On Saturday, October 22 from 1 to 4 p.m. several experts on Native Americans in northeast Arkansas will be on hand at Parkin Archeological State Park in Parkin, Arkansas to answer questions about Native American artifacts. Examples of information they can provide are the artifacts age, uses, and who made them. The park will provide tables for people to display their artifacts during the event. Even if you have no artifacts you can view the ones displayed. Park staff will be demonstrating flint knapping during the event so that visitors can understand how arrowheads and stone tools are made. Admission fees apply for touring the mound site. There is no additional fee to discuss your artifacts with experts. Call Parkin Archeological State Park at (870) 755-2500 for details.
