Two new events help brighten the Christmas season in Eureka Springs.
November 25- Christmas day, the Inn of the Ozarks Convention Center will host a 350-piece lighted Victorian snow village, complete with several antique train sets running in the display. It’s a chance to view what Eureka Springs might have looked like in the 1800. Viewing hours are 2-7 p.m. daily, or by appointment for special groups.
The Queen Anne Mansion will kick off its holiday season by hosting the Eureka Springs School of the Arts (ESSA) Shameless Sequin Soiree, a fund-raiser for the arts. More information is available at www.esartschool.com.
On Dec 1, The Queen Anne hosts a bus trips from Bella Vista, which will include a tour of the Mansion decked out in nostalgic Victorian Christmas décor, lunch in the Garden Gallery Level, Christmas shopping in Eureka Springs and a Christmas show in Branson. Dec. 3 and 10, starting 5 p.m., The Mansion hosts Candles and Carols, an opportunity to explore the mansion during the special holidays evenings when the warm glow of the fireplaces accent the delicate ornaments and priceless treasures. Mrs. Claus will read Christmas stories in the family parlor to children 12 and under. Hot and hearty snacks will be available in the Garden Gallery Level. As part of the evenings, visitors will take off at 7:30 p.m. for the Pine Mountain Theater Christmas show, A Season of Celebration.
Soft carols will waft through The Queen Anne starting Nov 10, enhancing the mood for viewing the seasonal Victorian Christmas decorations. Tours of the Mansion will include an exhibit of the Santa Though the Decades Collection. The Mansion will be open special hours during November and December, with self-guided tours available noon-6 p.m. daily. The Queen Anne Mansion is closed to visitors on Wednesday.
