About the Hot Springs Music Festival: 3-16 June 2012 the Spa City will once again overflow with music as 200 international musicians rehearse and perform 20 low-cost concerts and 250 free open rehearsals of symphony orchestra, chamber and choral music in the casual atmosphere of Hot Springs’ Historic Downtown District. USA Today says, “The Hot Springs Music Festival is a classical music wonder.”
The Hot Springs Music Festival, now in its seventeenth season, is one of the premier festivals in the nation devoted to classical music. Since its inaugural season in 1996, it has apprenticed more than 1800 pre-professional musicians from 24 countries; attracted over 300,000 audience members to its various concerts and open rehearsals, and reached 41.7 million listeners through National Public Radio broadcasts of its concerts.
The mission of the Hot Springs Music Festival is twofold: (1) to provide performance experience and mentorship opportunities to especially talented inter/national pre-professional musicians, and (2) to provide high-quality music performances and performing arts-related activities at reasonable cost to residents of and visitors to Arkansas and the Hot Springs community.
