AWL will meet on Thursday, November 15 at 2 p.m. in Room 6 at the Coronado Center. Democrat-Gazette columnist, Rhonda Owen,
will be speaking about her popular weekly column, "Creature Feature". In
addition to training tips, she will be offering advice on managing pet owners
expectations vs. reality when bringing a "do over dog" or cat into the
household. Her presentation should be especially valuable for shelter
volunteers when showing pets to potential adopters.
AWL IS ON FACEBOOK!
We have a Facebook page....and it's filled with
photos and stories about our adoptable pets, fundraisers and activities. Sarah
Yerkes has created this great new way for us to advertise our cats and dog to
the Facebook- users world and increase their second chances for new homes. Take
a tour at www.facebook.com/hsvawl and read the posts we're getting.
Then "Like" us so you get updated postings.
DIAMANTE DOG SHOW
Diamante residents brought their furry friends
to the Diamante C C. on October 19 for a first ever dog show for Diamante
pets. Forty plus dogs competed for honors in a variety of categories. Some of
our shelter cats and dogs were invited to attend too! The show raised $750 and all if it was donated to AWL. Thank you Diamante friends for your generous
support!
PEDIGREE & PETFINDER GRANT
The Pedigree Foundation and the
Petfinder Foundation have awarded a $1,000 grant to AWL. The grant money will
be used to fund our shelter dog adoptions and give many, many of our deserving
animals a new chance for a forever home and a family to
love.
THANK YOU PEDIGREE & PETFINDER FOR HELPING TO MAKE MORE ADOPTIONS
HAPPEN !
