Statement issued today from Graland County Emergency Management

Friday, November 2, 9:55 a.m.

A cold front will be making its way through Arkansas Saturday and Saturday night. Scattered thunderstorms will develop in association with the front. Isolated storms could become severe from mid afternoon through late evening, with the best chances being along and south of Interstate 40. Large hail will probably have a better chance of occurring than damaging winds. Some showers and thunderstorms are likely to continue into Sunday morning in southern Arkansas (and possibly in the central part of the state), but severe weather is unlikely then.

In northern Arkansas, rainfall amounts are likely to average less than 1/4 inch. Over the rest of the state, totals in the 1/4 to 3/4 inch range should be the most common.

I will issue the next message around 11 a.m. Saturday.
