AWL Puttin' on the Dog and Cat in preparation stage

Support for the 2013 “Puttin’ on the Dog…and Cat” April 16 at the Coronado Center

The annual Animal Welfare League fundraiser “Puttin’ on the Dog…and Cat” is approaching.

Members of the AWL are needed to contribute to the set up operation, promotion of, and then attend and have fun!

The AWL spends over $120,000 a year to provide vet services and shelter the animals until a forever home is found. This fundraiser is a very important income source.

At this time we need quality donations for the silent and live auctions, and ticket sales.

Ticket Sales: You can purchase tickets through Julie Keck (915-9986 or juliekeck@aol.com). Tickets will be available at the February 21st AWL General Membership Meeting at the Coronado Center (2 PM) and at various local businesses in a few weeks - details to follow via member E-mail and in the newspaper.

Tickets are $20 each (cash $ - or check to ‘HSV Animal Welfare League’) There are only 350 tickets available for the event and it sells out every year. Please help promote the fundraiser to your friends, neighbors, club members, etc.

Auction Donations: Use the website - pages.suddenlink.net/twocats/fund-raiser.html - to print donor request letters, donor receipts, and item ID forms. After you have obtained an item to be donated go to the ‘”Auction Item Registration” on the website.

The window has data entry boxes - fill in the information, and click on [Submit]. There is also an “Instruction Sheet” selection which explains all of this. If this computer process seems complicated, please feel free to call Kathleen Arkin at 922-5325 for help. delkathyarkin@att.net

Contact Kathleen Arkin (922-5325),
Jamie Fitchko-Brown (214-282-7704),
or Connie Weidert (915-0719) to drop off the items.

You can also send a check to Kathleen Arkin (made out to ‘HSV Animal Welfare League, c/o K. Arkin, 11 Ferrol Pl., HSV, AR 71909). We have a team of shoppers that can purchase items on your behalf and also buy items to complete the fabulous silent auction baskets.

Gift certificates are our most popular silent auction item. We encourage you to request a gift certificate from service providers that you frequently use
(give them a donor receipt).

Your support is greatly appreciated. Come down to the shelter and see some of the furry creatures that we are moving through the “system” of the shelter, the foster program, off-site (Petco) adoptions, community animals, and reaching out on PetFinders and FaceBook,

Let’s all work together on “Puttin’ on the Dog…and Cat”!
