Benton, AR---Prosecuting Attorney Ken Casady released information regarding a drug related crime conviction obtained Monday.
Garey Ray White, 31, Benton, pled guilty to Possession of Methamphetamine with the Intent to Deliver, a class “Y” felony, Maintaining a Drug Premises and Endangering the Welfare of a minor, both class “D” felonies. Judge Gary Arnold imposed a sentence of 20 years for the offenses and remanded White to the custody of the Sheriff for transport to prison.
On March 3, 2011, the Saline County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant on White’s residence after receiving information that he was selling methamphetamine from his home. During the search, officers discovered two minors who were exposed to methamphetamine inside the residence along with Garey White. Additionally, officers found approximately 5 grams of methamphetamine along with cash and other drug paraphernalia.
“It is horrible that children were found living in a drug dealer’s den. I am thankful for the hard work of the Sheriff’s office that removed them from an awful situation. Garey White now has plenty of time in prison to think about his actions.” said Casady.
