Concert moved from Whittington Park

This is proving to be a summer to remember with its record high relentless heat. Unfortunately yet again conditions require Hot Springs Concert Band relocate the concert scheduled for this Monday evening, August 8. to the alternate concert location: National Park Community College gymnasium. The Hot Springs Concert Band is making this change because the heat warnings from the National Weather Service forecast high temperatures of 99 to 101 degrees for Monday and humidity, which can create health hazards to which we would rather not subject our audience or band members.

The concert will begin at 6:15 p.m. and we hope that you will come and join us for a great concert under the theme "Music from Russia With Love", great marches and inspiring pieces including excerpts of the 1812 Overture by Tchaikovsky.

Please remember that food is not allowed inside the gymnasium, but you are welcome to bring in your lawn chair for more comfortable seating. (Bleachers also will be pulled out for additional seating.)

If you have not been to the gymnasium before, please follow the directions below:

From Hot Springs Village:

Take AR-192/Strawberry Road from Hwy 7 across from Boys & Girls Club.
Follow Strawberry Road to Mountain Pine Road (HWY 227) and turn left onto Highway 227
Continue on Hwy 227 to Mid-American Parkway (stop light at this intersection)
Turn left onto Mid-America Parkway which takes you onto the National Park Community College Campus
Continue past the Campus Center (which you will see on your right) until you reach Rockefeller Drive
Turn right onto Rockefelller Drive
Follow until you see the turnoff to the gymnasium building ahead on the right. Use the main entrance into the gymnasium building. Doors to the gym directly ahead of you.

From Hot Springs area:

Follow Albert Pike Road / Hwy 270 west. When you see MacDonalds Restaurant on your left, turn right onto Hwy 227 (there is a major stop light at this location).
Follow Hwy 227 a short distance to Mid-American Parkway (stop light at this intersection). This will take you onto the National Park Community College campus.
Continue past the Campus Center (which you will see on your right) until you reach Rockefeller Drive
Turn right onto Rockefelller Drive
Follow until you see the turnoff to the gymnasium building ahead on the right. Use the main entrance into the building

There is plenty of parking adjacent to the gymnasium building with an additional parking lot located just below the gymnasium complex.

Come enjoy a great concert in the cool air-conditioning. Arrive early for a good seating location. Doors open at 5:15 p.m.
