J. R. Fisher died of crush injuries

Shortly before noon yesterday, June 8, longtime Hot Springs Village POA employee J. R. Fisher was crushed by equipment at the storm debris grinder operation at Terlingua. Mr. Fisher died of his injuries.
There were no other POA employees at the site at the time of the accident. There was an employee of the vendor, operator of the grinding equipment, present. The vendor employee called 911 and tried to assist Mr. Fisher. Village police, fire and LifeNet responded to the call.
OSHA reported to the accident site around 3 p.m. yesterday and is still investigating.
POA general manager Scott Randall met with Mr. Fisher's widow Karen to break the news of her husband's death. The couple have three children, Marina, Nicholas and Nathaniel.
The Fisher family lives outside of the Village heading toward Jessieville.
Mr. Fisher worked for the POA for 17 years. He was just shy of his 47th birthday.
POA employees are remembering Fisher fondly. The loss is jarring and tragic.
Mrs. Fisher would like to have his service this Sunday but nothing has been finalized at this time.
