E-day Festival 2011, one of the largest environmental education events in Arkansas, will take place from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 5 at the Farmers Market Pavilion, 121 Orange Street in downtown Hot Springs.
The E-day Festival is a family-friendly event hosting nearly one hundred environmentally conscious businesses, organizations, non-profits, and places of worship. For the past two years, crowds have been conservatively estimated at more than 3,000. The E-day team welcomes Tenenbaum Recycling Group, LLC as its new headline sponsor. Admission is completely free. In true festival style, E-day offers fun for all ages, with live music, food vendors, games, art, rock climbing wall and a variety of intriguing exhibitors with eco-friendly products for purchase. The first 150 children will receive a free pumpkin growing kit from the Commission and the Master Gardeners. Live performances throughout the day include music from Chana and Randy Caylor, Shady Grove and the Drum Circle. All the sound equipment will be solar powered as will be the Commission’s information booth and at least two other vendors, making this truly a very “green” festival.
Sponsor exhibitors include the Mid-America Science Museum, Hot Springs Sanitation Department, New Awakenings Magazine and Ouachita Life newspaper. Other exhibitors include: City Plumbing Heat and Electric, Nearly New, WalMart, Garland County Conservation Services, St. Joseph’s Mercy Health Center, Arkansas Watershed Advisory Group, Hot Springs Stormwater Division, GeoThermal Systems, Liberty Solar Solutions, Myers Supply and more.
