Arkansas Community Theater Association news

It is now confirmed that the ARCTA Annual Meeting will be held on Saturday, November 19th, at the Argenta Community Theater in North Little Rock. The Special Events Committee can now begin lining up speakers and activities, as well as, marketing the
event.

According the bylaws, the annual meeting will be held at a time and place to be selected by the bard of directors. Also, the slate of directors will be elected at the annual membership meeting by the membership, with the officers elected by the board following the annual meeting. Since “the newly-elected directors will hold office beginning the first day of the month following election”, this would mean the board would start on December 1, 2011 and the current board terms would be extended until then.

The membership and board cycles have corresponded to the annual meetings held in August. With the annual meeting to be held in November this year, this would mean that the ARCTA members will have an additional three months before their current membership expires.
