Airport art
The public is invited to an art exhibit opening reception from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 17 in the terminal building at Hot Springs Memorial Field, 525 Airport Road. The exhibit will feature a collection of paintings with the theme of “Flight” by members of the Traditional Art Guild. The Guild continues their annual tradition of hanging flight-themed paintings during the Hot Air Balloon Rally at the airport. “We all enjoy the spectacular balloons, the good food and wonderful entertainers,” Guild president Kathryn Curry said. “It’s an awesome sight to watch the balloons being inflated, glowing, and fly. Artist or not, it is inspiring to all.”
Some of the paintings on display will reflect members’ special interests. Or, they may express the artist’s feelings or heartfelt memories. The paintings in the show reflect something personal about each artist.
On the third Saturday of every month throughout the year, the airport will host a new art exhibit by a TAG member, beginning with the opening reception. The public is welcome to drop by and see the display anytime during the month. For information on TAG, contact Curry at 760-0897.
