Hot Springs asking for input on the 2012 budget

Following Tuesday night’s 2012 Budget town hall meeting, city residents are invited to submit additional ideas and suggestions for next year’s city budget by phone, online or conventional mail until next Wednesday, September 21.

During the town hall, several residents provided a variety of suggestions regarding what they felt was important to include in the 2012 city budget. As part of the initial stage of establishing next year’s budget, the public’s stated priorities regarding city services, programs and activities will be recorded and submitted for consideration by the Hot Springs Board of Directors at a work session later this month.

Although the city will not be able to fund all citizen requests in 2012, suggestions will be reviewed as potential long-term goals or short-term projects, depending on the needed resources involved.

Residents may submit their budget suggestions online at http://www.cityhs.net/contact_us_general_inquiries.html ; by recorded message on the city’s Action Line at 321-6808; or by sending conventional mail to: Budget, c/o City Manager Lance Hudnell, P.O. Box 700, Hot Springs, AR 71902. Budget suggestion forms are also available in the city manager and city clerk offices at City Hall, 133 Convention Boulevard.
