On May 10 officials at the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) announced a sample taken from a lot of bottled drinking water from the Little Rock company Mountain Pure Water Company shows the presence of a biological contaminant. ADH is recommending that anyone who might have purchased or received any bottled water from this lot should not drink it, but rather should dispose of it or return it to the point of purchase.
The affected lot is Great Value (green label) bottled water with a sell by date of 10-06-11. This is etched into the plastic bottle. These are bottles of purified drinking water in the 16.9 fl. oz. (506 ml.) size.
ADH has advised the company to recall the entire lot where this sample originated.
It is unlikely that a healthy person would become ill from drinking this water. People with a weakened immune system might be at higher risk. Anyone who thinks they may have become ill after drinking this water should consult a physician.
This notice applies only to this specific lot of Great Value water. For more information, contact the company at (501) 568-3540.
