Johnston's resignation

There was no indication at last Wednesday’s POA board’s work session of the radical changes coming to the Village except for a notation at the end of the agenda, an executive session would follow.
At 8 a.m. on Thursday morning, department heads were informed of POA general manager, Dave Johnston’s resignation effective immediately. By 8:30 a.m. department directors were informing their committee heads, committee heads informed their committee members and word started to spread around the Village like a wildfire.
At 8:39 a.m. a press release was sent to some of the local media. Immediately KVRE got word of the resignation on air.
A POA board member, Jerry Kosoglow was named as interim general manager. A breaking news release was issued on the POA website.
On Friday morning, Kosoglow assured KVRE listeners the transition would be smooth and he needed the support of all Villagers during the search for a new POA general manager. The process to replace Johnston is expected to be lengthy. Johnston was the general manager of the POA for 15 years. He guided the Village through its best and worst times.
The question as to Kosoglow’s continued participation on the POA board has been put before the POA attorney. No decision has been rendered at this time.
