In preparation for the Muses 3rd Annual Opera Gala on September 21st, featuring "Die Fledermaus", a Viennese style ball, this month’s Art Of Living, Creative Community Outreach, September 9, at 6:30 p.m., will include informal ballroom dance instruction in ¾ time.
Bring your dance shoes and have fun learning the waltz in the Fellowship Hall at First Presbyterian Church, 213 Whittington Avenue. 1,2,3 ...1,2,3.
The Art of Living, offered free of charge, is for participants of high school age and older. Sessions are held on the second Thursday of each month by psychologist and life coach Toni Spears and visual artist and professional vocalist Deleen Davidson of The Muses Creative Artistry Project.
Spears, also a licensed counselor and seminar speaker, has helped artists, writers, musicians, actors and others who simply have a desire to become more creative. A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, her private practice has no geographical boundaries as she works with clients face-to-face or by telephone. Her holistic, solution-focused approach fosters the process of personal growth and change.
"Come reawaken dormant dreams, discover hidden talents, and embrace the power of imagination and play," said Davidson, founder and artistic director of The Muses. "After all, Hot Springs is an art town; so let’s start living artistic, creative and inspired lives."
The Muses is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving classical art and music through performance and education. For more information on The Muses, contact Davidson, 463-4514, deleen@themusesproject.org.
