Story-time concert this morning at 10 a.m.

This morning students from the Hot Springs area, including Jessieville, Fountain Lake, Mountain Pine and Cutter Morning Star, will gather at the Summit Arena at 10 a.m. for an Arkansas Symphony Orchestra concert coordinated by the Hot Springs/Village Symphony Guild.
The program includes Prokofiev's March from “The Love for Three Oranges”, Dukas' The Sorcerer's Apprentice, Rossini's William Tell Overture, Tchaikovshy's 1812 Overture and Williams' Harry Potter Symphonic Suite.
They Symphony Guild provides materials to area teachers to assist in preparing the students for the concert. The children have previewed the music and know what to expect, have a history of the composer and the piece and will exhibit the etiquette involved in attending a symphony concert.
Geoffrey Robson, conductor, is in his third season as Associate Conductor of the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra. He also serves as violinist in the ASO’s Sturgis string quartet, participating in a state-wide program of arts education for school children, and writes and produces At the Symphony, a concert preview radio series on KLRE 90.5 in Little Rock.
