A skunk collected on Wednesday on Crystal Hill Road in the Mid-America Park area
of Garland County tested positive for rabies by the state lab late this
afternoon, according to Animal Services Director Dan Bugg.
Following a
positive case at Entergy Park and another in the Mid-America Park area, this
makes the third positive skunk found in Garland County within the last thirty
days. According to the Rabies Control Act of Arkansas, this places Garland
County under rabies alert. To report any unusual daytime activity by nocturnal
creatures such as bats or skunks, call Animal Services at 262-2091.
