Rain, rain, yeah

A line of thunderstorms in western Arkansas this morning is likely to weaken slowly through about midday and then will probably increase in strength again this afternoon.  So, for this afternoon and evening, a few severe storms could occur in just about any section of Arkansas. Damaging winds will probably be a greater threat than large hail.

On Tuesday, isolated severe storms will be possible, mainly in the southern half of the state during the afternoon and evening.

On Wednesday and Thursday, isolated severe storms could occur in just about any part of the state during the afternoon and evening.

Rainfall amounts from today through Wednesday will reach 1 to 2 inches in many areas, though not every place in the state will receive rain.  Where slow-moving storms occur or where more than one strong storm moves across the same area, some totals in the 3 to 4 inch range could occur.

After Thursday, we will be back into more of a summertime pattern where daytime heating could spark a severe storm or two on just about any afternoon.
