Postal Service to dedicate, rename Little Rock Main Office to honor Arkansas Governor Sidney “Sid” Sanders McMath

On June 7, the U.S. Postal Service will pay tribute to a dedicated American by renaming the Little Rock Main Post Office to “Sidney ‘Sid’ Sanders McMath Post Office Building”.
The ceremony will begin at 9:30 am on the second floor of the Arsenal Tower Building, 601 East 9th Street
Congressman Tim Griffin sponsored a bill in the House of Representatives to rename the postal facility “Sidney ‘Sid’ Sanders McMath Post Office Building”.  That bill became Public Law 112-246, when signed by President Barack Obama on January 10.
Sid McMath was elected as the 34th Governor of Arkansas, serving from 1949 to 1953, and served as a U.S. Marine in World War II.
The community is invited to join Rep. Griffin and the Postal Service at this dedication ceremony to honor Sidney “Sid” Sanders McMath and his contributions to Arkansas and America.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
