Saline County candidates introduced at forum

Democratic incumbent County Clerk Doug Kidd introduced himself to Village voters.

Republican Dennis Milligan is running for Saline County Clerk.

Former Bryant Revenue Agent Georgine McKim is one of the candidates for County Tax Collector.

Business woman Lisa Dodson is one of seven running for County Tax Collector.

Doug Curtis, candidate for County Tax Collector wanted the audience to know that he is a Republican not and Independent as listed on his write in candidacy.

Green party candidate for County Tax Collector, Joy Ballard, had difficulty adjusting the microphone to her diminutive form.
Democratic incumbent Sheriff Bruce Pennington added humor to the mix during his introductory remarks.

Saline County Judge Lanny Fite took a few minutes to talk about positive things happening in Saline County.

Candidates for office in Saline County were introduced to Village residents last week at the forum held in the Ouachita room sponsored by the Village Chamber of Commerce and the POA governmental affairs committee.
According to moderator, Bob Shoemaker, the Saline County forum was better attended than the Garland County forum.
Judge Lanny Fite is unopposed for office but asked for a few minutes to address Saline County residents before the other candidates for County office were introduced. Fite gave a brief state of the County.
Tax Collector for Saline County has become a very interesting race. The incumbent, Nette Curtis, was unopposed for re-election. She was offered another job after the filing date passed and now the County is faced with choosing between seven candidates on November 2. The only candidate that made it on the ballot is Green Party candidate Joy Ballard. The other six are write in candidates. The write in candidates include Doug Curtis, Lisa Dodson, Coach Dwight Fite, Carl Frank, Georgine McKim and David Passmore. All are listed as independent candidates.
