Pryor has eye on Veterans
Senator Mark Pryor is working on the Veterans Job Corps Act, a bipartisan bill that would provide job opportunities and training to help veterans transition from military to civilian life. Included in the package is the Hire at Home Act, Senator Pryor’s bill that encourages states to consider the specialized military training and experience service members acquire on active duty as filling all or some of the state certification and licensing requirements. Also included in the bill is the TAP Modernization Act, a bill which Senator Boozman introduced and Senator Pryor cosponsored. This bill allows veterans to re-take the Transition Assistance Program (TAP)—a program that provides job training workshops—in order to help market themselves in the civilian sector.
