NPCC Singers concert next weekend

The National Park Community College Singers will present their annual Fall Concert on Sunday, November 18, 3:00 p.m., at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Hot Springs. The 45-member chorus recently performed at the Two-Year College Choral Festival held on the campus of U of A Fort Smith along with other Two-Year College Choirs from Arkansas, Kansas, and Iowa.

The November 18th concert will feature choral pieces from several time periods of music history; the most recognizable selections will be from the Haydn Creation. The chorus will also perform pieces from the 20th century including The Last Words of David by Randall Thompson.

Also featured in this concert will be the ever popular NPCC Soundwaves singing jazz arrange-ments and our newest ensemble, the NPCC Chamber Chorale, singing selections from the Alfred Burt Carols.

The Choral Music Program at National Park is seen many times performing throughout Garland County. “Holiday in the Park” will be held on December 10th in Horner Hall at 6:30 p.m., with Mr. Ned Perme as guest host. Admission to this event is non-perishable food items for local charities.

The Music Program at NPCC now offers an Associate of Arts Degree in the music field of study for students who want to major in music to transfer to a four-year college. Scholarships are available to qualified students. For more information contact Mrs. Denise Edds at 501-844-6414, 501-760-4165, or email dedds@npcc.edu.
