POA trumpets Fleck's visit to Village

Arkansan Jack Fleck, 90, the oldest living U.S. Open Champion, recently paid a visit to Hot Springs Village. Fleck participated in a golf clinic as part of the 1st Annual Media Charity Golf Tournament, which was held May 5, at Cortez Golf Course.

A total of 14 teams participated in the one-day event and the winner was Christina Lecuyer.

Fleck, who lives in Fort Smith, Ark., won the U.S. Open at the Olympic Club in San Francisco in 1955, beating fellow golfer Ben Hogan, who was seeking his fifth Open title.

A recent article in The New York Times noted that with the return of the Open this year to the Olympic Club, two books have been written lauding Fleck’s “unexpected” 1955 win.

Hot Springs Village is home to a total of nine golf courses. With more than 160 holes, there is a golfing opportunity for players of all skill levels.

Not only abundant, golf in Hot Springs Village is amazingly affordable. Property Owners can play a round of golf with a cart for less than $30.00 on any of the POA courses. Hot Springs Village is home to four of the top ten courses in Arkansas, and Isabella and Diamante were ranked nationally by Golf Digest as "Best New Courses" when they opened.
