Saturday events in the area

A motorcycle poker run is today in memory of Jake Weldon. Weldon suffered from non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and died on August 14, 2008. Summit Bank is hosting the fundraiser benefiting the American Cancer Society. The run will start at the Malvern Summit Bank at 608 East Page, sign is from 8:30 to 10 a.m., and finish at the Malvern City Park at 2 p.m. The fee is $10.

The public is invited to an art exhibit opening reception from 1 to 3 p.m. at Hot Springs Memorial Field, 525 Airport Road. The exhibit will feature the works of traditional art guild member Nina Louton. The collection features an eclectic mix of acrylics, oils and watercolors with various subjects and contemporary art. The exhibit will run through mid-May.

First Church of Nazarene, 3804 Central in Hot Springs is hosting a gospel concert at 6 p.m. Leo Castleberry will emcee the event. The concert features the Gospel Sons of Amory, Mississippi, Christian Smith and others. A love offering will be collected for the Lupus Foundation of America, Arkansas Chapter.
