Power outages planned for tomorrow

Tomorrow, March 8, Entergy is switching service from the existing faulty underground cable to new replacement cable in the Doscientos Subdivision Area around Cortez Golf Course. Residents will experience brief power outages when the switch is made. The outages should last no longer than 30 minutes and will affect a small percentage of customers at one time as Entergy phases the power in.
Thursday, March 10, Entergy will make their primary underground connection to their existing overhead power distribution on Barcelona Road and Cortez Road. This will take more time and more residents will be affected. An Entergy representative said power will be restored within two and a half hours. When the connection is made on Barcelona the south side of Doscientos Way will be without power. When the connection is made on Cortez, the north side of Doscientos Way will be without power. One connection will be made in the morning, the other in the afternoon, half the residents will be without power at one time.
Strong thunderstorms are in the forecast for tomorrow. Alternate job times are not available at present.
