Ross to continue town halll meetings

U.S. Congressman Mike Ross of Prescott will be continuing his town hall tour across Arkansas’s Fourth Congressional District this year by hosting 14 town hall meetings in August. Ross, who held a series of town halls earlier this year, said the public forums are in addition to the series of monthly telephone town hall meetings he has also been hosting throughout the year for residents of Arkansas’s Fourth Congressional District.

“I believe it’s absolutely critical for members of Congress to get out of Washington, come home and listen to the people they represent. That’s why I never moved to Washington and why I come home every weekend and during August to listen to folks,” said Ross. “We’ve got some major issues facing our country, particularly jobs, the economy and our national debt. More than ever, I want to hear from the people I represent and take their concerns and priorities back to the nation’s capital to fight for them.”

Ross said his monthly telephone town hall meetings are designed for people who cannot attend his town halls in person, such as working families, parents of small children and senior citizens who have trouble leaving their homes.

“These telephone town halls are an easy and convenient way for residents of Arkansas’s Fourth Congressional District to get answers from their congressman and to share their thoughts and concerns from the comfort of their own home,” said Ross. “I continue to receive very positive feedback from all over the district about these calls because some people can’t take off of work or leave their home to come to my town hall meetings in person. These calls have been incredibly successful and I find them very valuable and helpful as I do my best to represent Arkansas.”
