Heifer Club meeting and shower

The next meeting of the Village Heifer Club is April 27 at 2 p.m. at Kirk in the Pines Presbyterian in Hoffius Hall. There will be two speakers from Heifer Ranch, Sarah French, education coordinator and Diane Gunvalson, volunteer coordinator.
The Heifer steering committee voted in February to give $500 earned from the Living Gift Market gift boutique, food sales, etc., to Heifer Ranch volunteer needs. An investigation and discussion with the new coordinator of volunteers at the Ranch, proved tangible items for each volunteer cottage would be more useful and appropriate than a check. With Heifer board approval vacuum cleaners and cast iron skillets have been purchased for the five cottages. More items are needed and some will be purchased.
For more club involvement a kitchen shower will be held in conjunction with this month's meeting. The following is a list of items still needed for the volunteer cabins. The items can be brand new or gently used.
Large cereal bowls
Small serving bowls, Corning Ware preferred
Large coffee mugs
Measuring cups
Measuring spoons
Silicon spatulas for scraping bowls
Sturdy hand held can openers
Paring knives
Chopping knives
Vegetable peelers
Wine bottle openers
